Facebook Friday~{Supercalifragilisticexpalidocious!}

supercalifragilisticexpialidociousColor

Going to Prague, Czech Republic is much like stepping into the past…a hidden fairy tale land. Everywhere you go the architecture is spectacular. And the manner of raising children in Prague is so different than here in the U.S. Children are regraded very highly and are allowed their independence at a much younger age. It was hard to get used to children walking through town and catching the tram or metro all alone to get to school and back. It made me think of Mary Poppins so I thought “Why not?” So here’s your free facebook timeline cover from fairy land!

Hope you enjoy your free supercalifragilisticexpialidocious timeline photo! Wink (I’d LOVE for you to Click HERE to tweet!)

Facebook Friday~ Free Timeline Cover {God’s Word Stands Forever}

I thought when I sent Miranda off to college that I was done helping with homework. Even though she’s an accounting major at a Christian College, she has to take a New Testament class, which is full of theology and many words that are over both our heads! And of all weeks to have a major research paper due, she has strep throat. Guess who she calls to help? Yep—me. Her mama. I guess she’s got me wrapped around her little finger too…and here all these years I thought it was only her daddy!

We spent about 8 hours researching and interpreting before she finally got the paper done, but in the process, she received an amazing message. That the word of God is living…always. It had a message for the Christians in Rome when Nero was in rule, and it has a message for us today. Even though we were exhausted and she felt horrible from her strep throat, it was a great day. I’m so glad I was able to go help her.

Then this verse came to mind…

flowersfadetimeline

God’s word is living and working every single day. It’s the number one best seller of ALL TIME. There’s a reason for that! Take in that living word daily, so it might shine in your daily life. I’m taking my own advice here too.

Hope you enjoy the timeline photo! Wink

“Unstoppable” by Kirk Cameron {…and a Facebook Friday Timeline Cover}

Last month I wrote a post titled, “Where is God When Bad Things Happen to Good People?” and gave my thoughts on that age-old question. Tonight we saw Kirk Cameron’s new documentary, “Unstoppable” in which he goes in his own journey after losing a young friend to cancer to answer that same question. While many of our conclusions were similar, one of his insights just…well…knocked me right upside the head.

We know the Bible contains story after story of bad things happening to good people and we see how God uses them for His kingdom. But there’s one story I never thought of…and it’s the most obvious and answers the question better than I ever could.

What is the single worst event that happened in the Bible? And who did it happen to?

The crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The brutal beating, tearing of his skin, nailing of his hands and feet to the cross, and the waiting…and finally his death. And all of that happened to the only sinless human being this world has ever seen. And why did all of those bad things happen to the best person?

To save the world.

Facebook Friday~Free Timeline Cover…”One Hundred Years From Now…”

lidicefbtimeine

When I was in Prague, we went to a little town outside of Prague called Lidice. It was a small village of around 500 people or so when Hitler decided to make an example of it to show his power and kill everyone in the village, including 80 children. This statue was truly amazing…words really cannot describe the feeling standing at this statue looking at the detail and expression in the faces of these children who were robbed their chance of growing old. A very sad and humbling experience. Because of the magnitude of the holocaust, the story of Lidice is mostly unknown. If you’d like to read more about the history of this village and exactly what happened click HERE.

I loved the memorial statue not only because it represented the children of Lidice, but also because it made me think about the lives of these children…and my own children. These children should have been part of the future of their nation, as our children hopefully will be part of ours. No time invested into the lives of our children is wasted. Hopefully you will enjoy this free facebook timeline cover as a reminder of just how important our children are.

Just Northwest of the Cows~A Free Facebook Timeline Cover

I know, I know. I’ve been AWOL for awhile! Shortly after my last post, I went to Europe…which I planned to blog through…but really had no idea how busy and tired and jet lagged and overwhelmed I would be. And yes, a little homesick too. Don’t get me wrong, it was an awesome trip. But my emotional brain was just too tired to blog my way through the trip. I’ll be sharing pics and stories though…don’t worry! Wink

20130820_145137

As soon I returned from Europe, I attended the She Speaks conference in Charlotte, then spent two weeks trying to get my house back in order after having to move out, have the floors refinished, and move back in…all the while getting my oldest daughter, Miranda, ready to move to college.

Isn’t her dorm room cute???

So Miranda’s off to college, Trevor started high school, and Marlee is big man on campus in the 5th grade…though little Marlee will never really be big man on any campus Wink

So this is why I’ve been AWOL. But the break has been good. I think I was getting a little burnt out spending so much time in front of this computer screen.

I thought I’d kick off the fall with a free facebook timeline cover for you from the midst of the Swiss Alps.

One of the many highlights of my trip was the day we spent in Switzerland driving over the Swiss Alps (in a 5 speed btw)  to go see the Matterhorn.

When we got over the river…

DREAM_SIZEIMG_7371

And around the bends…

And Past the flags…DREAM_SIZEIMG_7426

And over the tracks…DREAM_SIZEIMG_7492

And past the cow paths…DREAM_SIZEIMG_7228

And through the Edleweiss…DREAM_SIZE_MG_0152

And just northwest of the cows, where you could still hear the cowbells ringing in the distance…DREAM_SIZEIMG_7409

We found the sweetest little church, nestled right there in the midst of God’s creation…DREAM_SIZEIMG_7576RICH

It was magical. And inspiring. And enchanting.

So to share a little of this magic with you I’ve created for you a free facebook timeline cover complete with easy step-by-step instructions:
